I’m in the very lucky position of working in one of the country’s best aquariums and have access to some fascinating and beautiful animals. I also love photography and the challenge of capturing high quality images of the marine life.
Through this blog I plan to share some of my favourite images as I take them, as well as my enthusiasm and passion for the oceans.
This is an Indigo Hamlet (Hypoplectrus indigo). It is mainly found in the Caribbean region, particularly around the Cayman islands.
They are quite shy and are very territorial meaning they will dart back under cover easily with any sudden movements. To capture this image I needed a lot of patience, but it was definitely worth the time. It is a beautiful fish, especially if you can capture the colour of the eyes.

I love this photo. I can’t believe it was done without Photoshopping! Amazing.
Thank you FudgeGecko! I do try never to use photoshop. It is a useful tool but I really like the satisfaction of getting an image I am happy with first time without the need for editing.
Thanks again!
